Theo MacLeod wasn’t supposed to be the one.

Tall, dark and handsome suits me just fine, but the cocky grin, know-it-all attitude, and mammoth ego? No thanks. I only hired him so I wouldn’t have to sit at the singles table again. It was just pretend.

He wasn’t supposed to kiss me.

My heart wasn’t supposed to pound.

We weren’t supposed to spend the night together—the hottest night of my life.

One night turns into a snowed-in weekend away, and even the blizzard of the century can’t cool the fire between us. I can’t get enough—of his smile, of his body, of the way he makes me feel.

We’re nothing alike. He’s a daredevil, and I’m a nervous Nellie. He’s a drifter, and I want to put down roots. He’s an opportunist with a checkered past, and I’m a Girl Scout volunteer.

But none of it matters when I’m in his arms.

I know he’s made mistakes. I know his wounds are deep, and he doesn’t trust easily. I know he doesn’t believe he could ever be enough to make me happy, but he could.

All he has to do is stay.

This book may be unsuitable for people under 18 years of age due to its use of sexual content, drug and alcohol use, and/or violence.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

Mature Content

Elementary art teacher Claire French needs a date for her co-workers wedding. After countless weddings sitting at the singles table and being on the receiving end of sympathetic looks, she’s done. And so when her co-worker asks her if she’s coming alone (again), she lies and tells her she’s finally bringing a plus one; this time in the form of a Ryan Gosling look-a-like who’s a rock star in bed.

Review | Act Like It by Lucy Parker

I love this book! A well-written slow burn romance with my favorite trope (hello, fake relationship!), witty banter, and a little Pride and Prejudice-esque feel to it. I wouldn’t go as far as to call it a modern-day Pride and Prejudice, but there’s a lot of influence there, especially with the main characters. And […]

ARC Review | Wrecking Ball by P. Dangelico

Hmm. This is a hard one. I love fake relationship tropes. I live for it! Same goes for the brooding hero and sassy heroine combination. Add in slow burn and a little sports element, and it’s pretty much a perfect book for me.
