Top Reads of the Week
Good Boy (WAGs #1) by Sarina Bowen & Elle Kennedy
Good Boy is a fun and sexy sports romance filled with chemistry, hilarious banter, and lovable characters. We have a charming and irresistible hero who LOVES DOGS and a strong, admirable, and relatable heroine.
I love the progress of their love story. From a one night stand, friends with benefits to friends to lovers. Their relationship is so adorable but so hot at the same time! Does that make sense??? Jess spent most of the time dismissing/avoiding Blake’s advances after their one night stand, but Blake is persistent. He backed off a little when she asked him, but it was then they became closer, the relationship gaining more substance. It wasn’t just physical anymore but so much more.
Conceit and Concealment by Abigail Reynolds
Abigail Reynolds created an adventure full of twists and turns in Conceit and Concealment. It’s an intricately written alternate English history starring two most beloved characters meeting and falling in love in different circumstances.
The author created a truly believable alternate history. She managed to describe what life is like in England if the French successfully invaded them, and for a while there, I was actually questioning if France did invade England. I was transported back in this alternate time, I rooted for the English, of course, but the author wrote a story that made me sympathetic to “the enemy”. The world truly isn’t black and white, but is also filled with multiple shades of grey.
