Katerina Dawson knows exactly what she wants from life. And as the new associate at the top law firm in the city, she’s ready to live out her dreams of becoming a criminal lawyer. But going on coffee runs and babysitting kids during the day was definitely not what she had in mind. She knows that anyone else would kill to be in her shoes, but she has to draw the line somewhere. That’s easier said than done, though, when Kat has to confront her handsome boss…
Tristan Channing and Jaxon Bentley run a successful law firm together and the two partners couldn’t be busier right now. When Jaxon suddenly takes a leave of absence, Tristan begrudgingly assumes responsibility of the new associate, the hot new associate, who has curves for days. Needing to keep his distance from her, Tristan sends Kat on needless errands and has her doing work even an intern wouldn’t touch, like picking up his kids. But his plan backfires when he sees his children grow attached to Kat and sees her getting comfortable in his home. It triggers something deep within him, and it feels right to have her there. Will Tristan be able to keep his work and personal lives separate, or will he find that his heart holds the final verdict?

Breaching the Contract is a short but sweet love story that was a great start to a new series. It was a fun, enjoyable, quick read with little drama, two adorable kids, a smart, determined and hardworking female lead and a confident and sexy single dad rocking it in a suit.
Fresh from graduating top of her class in law school, Katerina Dawson is ready to conquer the world. She now works in a top law firm as an associate for one of the firm’s partners, Jaxon Bentley, and she is blossoming under his guidance. No coffee runs or unrelated tasks for her here and she loves it. She’s actually doing something and learning each day thanks to Jaxon.
But when Jaxon goes on an emergency leave, Katerina is left to fend for herself from Jaxon’s partner, Tristan Channing, a man she felt a brief connection with when they bumped into each other when they were still completely ignorant of their work status.
Tristan feels a strong pull towards Katerina, and he’s doing his best to keep his distance, even if it means making Katerina go on coffee runs for him and babysit his children. It all backfires when he sees the growing bond between the irresistible associate and his children, and he feels the attraction even more. And the attraction isn’t as one-sided as it seems.
There’s just something incredibly hot about men and women in suits. Smart, powerful, and strong-willed. That’s exactly who Katerina and Tristan are. Tristan started off looking like an a*hole, treating Katerina like an intern instead of an associate. But then we get to see him in a different light as the story goes on, and what a man. A single dad who loves his kids, is hardworking, thoughtful, and sexy as hell. I’m in love.
Katerina was a strong heroine who is kind and patient. Honestly, if I were in her position and Tristan started making me run errands the way he did, I would’ve lost my temper. Despite not being exposed to children, her empathy and kindness made it easy for her to
It was a short story, but I think it was just the right length for their romance. It wasn’t stretched, and it still gave enough intrigue for Tristan’s partner, Jaxon. I look forward to reading his story, which I’ve heard is a full-length novel. Woohoo!
If you’re a fan of quick romances set in the courtroom with witty banter, sizzling chemistry, single dads and strong heroines, you’ll enjoy Breaching the Contract.
