Carver Jones’ partner at Jones + Gallum had to step down for medical reasons. He’s absolutely devastated. He swears. Just ignore his cheeky grin, okay?
When word reaches his fancy corner office that Gallum is replacing himself with his daughter, Amity, Carver is ecstatic.
For real this time.
Jones squashes men in the business industry flat. A woman? Pfst. He’ll be completely in charge in no time, doing whatever he wants. He’s so ready for this.
But is he ready to fight the hardest fight of his life? No, not the one to maintain control of his company. The one to keep control of his heart.
The battle may begin in the boardroom, but the war will definitely be won in the bedroom. May the best sex win.
*This is a steamy office romance.

Battle of the Sexes was my favorite novella in the Imperfect Love Kindle World novellas! Well-written, funny, and sexy. The characters had great chemistry and banter, and the story had a wonderful pace. Some novellas tend to feel rushed, but I believe this one was just right.

“We fight it out or f*k it out. Your choice.”

I loved both of the characters. Amity is strong, confident, and smart, but she hasn’t always been that way. Sometimes her insecurities still come out. Still, she doesn’t let Carver scare her, and she bites back whenever he tries to intimidate and/or flirt with her. Carver is a total alpha—powerful, in control, and oozing with sexual appeal. He’s cocky, but no one can deny his passion and dedication to the company. He’s always had a soft spot for Amity, and even after years apart, it’s still there even now that she’s considered his competition.

It was a hoot watching them go head-to-head to win the CEO position, but it was even better seeing them get along and give in to their mutual attraction. There was also a little drama to keep the readers invested.

This was my first Adriana Locke book (gasp! ), but it definitely won’t be my last.

Famed is a cute, lighthearted, and fast-paced PR fauxmance novella about an actress who needs to fix her reputation and a publicist who plans to climb the next step up the corporate ladder.

This is a typical fake relationship story where lines are blurred and fake becomes real. What made this its own story are the interesting elements (Mary’s staged sex scandal, the dates, Chris’s family).

“An attractive Hispanic boy from Jersey and the Manhattan princess. Everyone loves a reverse Cinderella story.”

Here we have two people whose lives are nothing alike. While Mary is a rich actress with her own penthouse suite, Chris lives paycheck to paycheck and lives in an apartment with a few roommates. But when they meet, there’s a spark no one can fake. I loved seeing Chris introduce Mary to a life beyond fame and money, something Mary hasn’t seen in a while. Their dates were sweet, out of the box, and fun, and I fell a little in love with Chris because of it. Plus I absolutely adored his family!

I’m going to sound a little snooty, but I couldn’t let go of the thought that some of the things that happened in the story would never happen in a real PR stunt/ would never be done by a publicist. I know. This is fiction. But I couldn’t fully get invested because of it.

I still enjoyed the story. I can’t resist fake relationship romances, and this book made me smile and laugh.

Sarah Madison loved working at Tate & Cane Enterprises.

While she looked and, for the most part, acted conservatively—she was a gladiator in the boardroom. The fast-paced, energetic work environment not only fed her need for corporate blood but also allowed her to work for one of her role models, Olivia Cane—living proof a woman really can have it all.

And after months of paying her dues, she was finally offered the promotion she’d been vying for. Which was great, except for the fact she had to share the position with a new guy they brought in especially for the role.

Kyle Drake was smart, experienced, and probably just as good, if not better, in negotiations. And if she wasn’t careful, prove he could do the job without her. Add in good-looking and an incredibly sexy smooth talker, and everyone in the office either wanted to be him or sleep with him. Which Sarah could have totally ignored if he hadn’t been the stranger she’d married in Vegas during a fake ceremony six months earlier.

He was supposed to be her one-night stand, a stand-in for a ceremony that wasn’t even legally binding. They were never even going to see each other again. Hell, she apparently hadn’t even known his real last name at the time. It was the only time she’d ever done something completely reckless and spontaneous.

It figured that one time would come back and bite her where it hurt.

I loved this novella! Ahhh I wish this was a full-length novel. One-Night Stand-In is a fun, sexy, and hilarious novella with a charming and cocky hero and a strong, determined heroine.

“I’d gone to Vegas. I’d met a ridiculously gorgeous man. I’d ‘married’ him.”

It’s easy to see in the blurb alone that this story would be entertaining as hell. Sarah, a jilted bride goes to Vegas (where she was supposed to get married) and fake marries Kyle, a hot stranger she met at a bar. They enjoy their honeymoon and part ways soon after, never thinking they might meet again six months later as officemates when said hot stranger moves to the jilted bride’s current employment.

I love Kyle so much! He’s cocky but honest to a fault. He says what’s on his mind and expresses what he feels, and ahhh. Swoon.

I admit I wasn’t a huge fan of Sarah going behind Kyle’s back to one-up him, but when they moved past that, the two had entertaining interactions that made me laugh, giggle, and swoon. This novella was a definite page-turner, and fans who loved the Imperfect Love series would love this just as much.

Becoming the new Marketing Manager at Tate and Cane was a game changer. I was hell bent on proving I deserved this job, and that it wasn’t my cousin Sterling Quinn who had helped me score the new job title. Him being one of the CEO’s best friend—didn’t help the rumors.

Well screw that.

Ten years of sweat and hard work was the reason I was sitting in a large corner office with a killer Manhattan view. More focused than I’d ever been, it was time to take the bull by the horns.

And God help the person who stood in in my way.

********
Things I left behind in Seattle, Washington: A promising career at a top marking firm, the past I was desperate to escape, and obviously my sense of direction. It was because of all of those reasons I was standing in the middle of New York City lost and cursing at my phone.

If I didn’t get to Tate and Cane soon, I wouldn’t only be late, but also blow the chance to make the good impression on my new boss, Mason Quinn. And I needed that more than anything.

One wrong turn, an unfortunate collision, and an expensive suit drenched in my soy chia tea latte was not how I wanted to start my first day.
Then there was the other little problem I had. The drop dead gorgeous man whose suit I’d ruined was my new boss.

And boy did he look pissed.

The Run In is a slow burn, forbidden romance between Mason Quinn and Saylor Night.

“Work will wait… Life won’t.”

There’s a lot of unresolved sexual tension between these two people with equally strong personalities. With the boss-employee thing going on and Mason’s reputation as a lady’s man, Saylor tries to stop herself from feelings things for him. She wants to settle down and have a family, and she doesn’t think Mason can give that to her. Mason has a similar predicament; he’s feeling things he’s never felt before, but his fear of commitment stops him from moving forward.

Because of their issues, there’s a lot of push and pull between them, and as I’ve said, UST abound.

I know some readers are particular about this, so I’ll add this in—there are almost other women drama involved. Because of that, I wasn’t Mason’s biggest fan (read: I wanted to throat punch him multiple times).

Three friends walk into a bar . . . One walks out the fake girlfriend of a hot, bearded Scotsman.

Fannin McGuire is up for promotion at Tate and Cane Enterprises, but first she has to make it through her stepsister’s wedding. To Fannin’s ex. Yep. Her ex-fiancé is about to be her new brother-in-law. One big happy family. And lucky her, she also gets to work with him.

While Fannin is putting all of her energy into her career, her ex is putting all of his energy into making her life hell. Just when Fannin is sure she’ll be attending the wedding without a plus one, in walks Jasper James to save the day. He’s the bartender at the Iron Flask, the account she’s trying to land, and everything she didn’t know she needed or wanted. Before Fannin knows what’s happening, Jasper is playing knight in shining armor and she likes it. And him. A lot. With his smooth Scottish accent, ridiculously good looks, and that beard? She doesn’t stand a chance.

Jasper isn’t in the habit of rescuing anyone. But when Fannin is confronted by her ex about her lack of a date for his upcoming nuptials, Jasper can’t help but step in. Her wild hair, violet eyes, and killer legs have him doing a few things he normally wouldn’t. Never mind that he shouldn’t be getting involved with the woman in charge of making the bar a global success.

Their fake relationship becomes more real than either thought it would. Now they’re at the mercy of their feelings when truths are twisted, and the lies don’t taste as smooth as the whisky.

Another novella I want to see as a full-length novel! I’m being a selfish b*tch here because I want to read more about Jasper and Fannin!

“Here’s to the boys who broke our hearts and to the men that picked up the pieces.”

I loved all of the characters in this book except Fannin’s ex and b*tch of a step-sister. They’re both d*cks. I loved it when Jasper and Fannin put them in their place. It’s easy to see Fannin as the better woman with the way she and her step-sister act. She’s strong, independent, and hard-working. She definitely didn’t deserve a loser like Jasper. You show ’em, girl!

I’m a puddle of mush for the sexy Scotsman, Jasper. That accent. That beard. That dirty mouth. I’m dead. I’m dead.

Twisted is a quick and fun read with dates, sexy times, and a little drama on the side that will make you crave whiskey and a man in a kilt.

Niall

I have twenty-eight days to find the perfect wife…

On paper, it seems like I need a life coach, but I’ve managed to get a decent grip on the single-dad thing. As a sought-after photographer with a sexy Irish accent, I have no problem attracting women. Especially crazy ones who can’t take no for an answer. But now, I’m backed in a corner, and both mine and my daughter’s futures are being threatened.
The plan is simple: find a fake fiancée, introduce her at my company’s gala, and save my job. A chance meeting with a tall, leggy blonde who looks like she could use a night out is the perfect solution. Beautiful, sane, and she has a kid? We have a winner.
The relationship is a ruse, but I didn’t count on her being unforgettable. A lie brought us together, but now I have no intention of letting her go.

Laken

I can’t buy my way onto Madison Avenue…

I didn’t bust my ass in college to be a nanny. Unfortunately, a 4.0 GPA and sucking up did nothing to secure me a coveted Tate & Cane internship. I’m not proud of being a nanny-for-hire to get my foot in the door, but my wealthy employer has connections, so I do what I need to—until one outrageous proposal changes everything.
In one afternoon, I find myself fake engaged with a fake new family. I’m not a liar, but he assumes the kid is mine. I should set the record straight. There’s only one problem. My new “fiancé” is a photographer for Tate & Cane. He’s my “in.”
If I can hold on to this charade long enough, I can get the job and the man of my dreams. I’m winging this completely unsupervised. Game on.

Unsupervised is a story about a hot Irishman trying his best to raise his daughter and a woman who wants to get her dream job no matter what.

“Well, if we’re going to have a fake engagement, then I figure we should be able to bypass the fake marriage and get to the fake honeymoon.”

I laughed every time Niall tried to charm Laken into getting cozy with him. He was relentless in his pursuit. I admire Laken’s self-control. Seriously. LOL. That accent and his love for his daughter would have been enough to seduce the heck out of me.

The lie by omission didn’t sit well with me, and I was dreading the revelation as much as Laken did. I was really hoping she’d confess the truth to Niall, but this story would never be as interesting as it is without that particular conflict. Other than that, Unsupervised was an enjoyable read.
